The 2008 Fairmont Farmers Festival T-Shirts are now available for sale! The adult shirts are Chestnut Brown and come in sizes S, M, L, XL, and 2XL. The youth shirts are Cardinal Red and come in sizes S, M, and L. Shirts cost $10.00 and can be purchased from the following locations: Fairmont Water Department, Fairmont Department Store, The Hardware, Webster's Pharamacy and Angie's Touch of Class/Curves. The shirts were designed by Rogers Screenprinting.
Miss North Carolina 2008 Amanda Watson will be in the parade.

"Raid on Ashpole" a Civil War reenactment will be held on October 18 and 19 as part of the festival events. It is hosted by the Harrington Light Artillery and the North Carolina Artillery Association. The camp opens at 10:00 a.m. to the public and will be located in the Fairmont Community Park. The battle begins at 2:00 p.m. on both days and will be located across the street from the Fairmont Community Park at the canal. For more information, please click here.

The group 2nd Stage will perform a variety of traditional, folk, country, bluegrass and popular music following the parade at Heritage Park.

Friday, October 17, 2008 - First Annual Fairmont Chamber of Commerce - Farmers Festival Golf Tournament, Flag Tree Golf Course, Four Man Captain's Choice, 1:00 p.m. shotgun start. $50 per player. Mrs. Beulah Arnette and Mrs. Nancy Griffin represent Grand Marshals Raymond and Nina Johnson. Mr. Raymond Johnson had to be admitted to the hospital and was unable to be in the parade. Mrs. Arnette and Mrs. Griffin are the aunts of Mrs. Nina Johnson.
