ATTENTION! TOWN HALL CLOSES FOR LUNCH EVERYDAY FROM 12:30 P.M. TO 1:30 P.M.

Mondays - Chair Aerobics for Seniors, 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Heritage Center, $3.00 a class.

Mondays - Line Dancing, 6:00 p.m., Heritage Center.

Wednesdays - Thunder Zone Karate, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Fire Hall, $40 a month.

Thursdays - Line Dancing, Advance Class 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Beginner's Class, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Heritage Center, $3.00 a class. Free for Southeastern Lifestyle Fitness Members.

Tuesdays and Thursdays - The Fairmont Group of Alcoholics Anonymous, 8:00 p.m., Fairmont First Baptist Church. Contact 628-5031 for more information.

Friday, February 27 - There will be a Black History Celebration on Friday, February 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fairmont-South Robeson Heritage Center on Main Street.  There will be refreshments and a viewing of the film “12 Years a Slave.”

Saturday, February 28 - Book 'Em NC, 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., A.D. Lewis Auditorium, Robeson Community College.

Saturday, February 28 - The American Legion has just opened a post in Fairmont.  Fairmont Post 548 will have a membership drive at 1:00 p.m. in the Fire Hall.  This a great venture for all veterans, so hope to see you there! For more information, contact 910-416-3828 or 919-649-1670.

Tuesday, March 3 - Fairmont Farmers Festival meeting, 6:00 p.m., Courtroom of Fairmont Town Hall. Anyone interested in volunteering for this year's festival is invited to attend.

Saturday, March 7 - Senior Bingo, 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Heritage Center.

Saturday, March 7 - Last day for baseball signup, 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Town Hall Courtroom.

Saturday, March 7 - Baltimore Baptist Church Wild Game Supper, 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 14 - Fairmont is starting a community clean-up event to be held the second Saturday of each month and targeting a different neighborhood each month. Our first community clean-up date is Saturday, March 14 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Old Field neighborhood followed by a hot dog lunch in the Fire Hall. Please make plans to volunteer and help make our town a clean place to live!

Saturday, May 2 - Second annual May Day Fun Festival.

Friday, May 15 - After School Program, 4:00 p.m., Hector MacLean Public Library. Ages 6-12.

Sunday, June 28 - Fairmont's Fantastic Fourth Fireworks.

Saturday, October 17 - Fairmont Farmers Festival.

Friday, December 4 - Holiday on Main Twilight Christmas Parade.

The NCDMV has a mobile Driver's License unit that comes to Fairmont on the second Tuesday, following the first full week, of each month. The operating hours are 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Fairmont Board of Commissioners meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, second floor, Town Hall.

The Planning Board meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building Council Chambers when necessary.

The Hector McLean Public Library is a branch of the Robeson County Public Library system and is open Monday: 2 p.m. - 6 p.m., Tuesday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., Wednesday:
2 p.m. - 6 p.m., Thursday: 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m. and Friday: 2 p.m. -
6 p.m.
